Marine industry bodies

Austrade works with all Australian marine industry bodies to deliver global opportunities to their members and sector. This level of support can vary from Australian branding support for international exhibitions and profile raising through to business matching services and Export Market Development (EMDG) support for eligible peak bodies and/or their members.

Austrade encourages all marine companies currently exporting or thinking of exporting to support the industry bodies that support and represent their interests.

Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX) - www.aimex.asn.au

The Australian International Marine Export Group is the peak body representing the Australian Marine Export industry. Members comprise leading recreational and light commercial marine industry companies involved in the design, manufacture and repair of all types of yachts, pleasure and light commercial boats; the manufacturing of boating equipment and fittings; boatbuilding; marina development and boat refitting and repair. 
 
The Australian Marine Industries Federation (AMIF) - www.amif.asn.au
 
The Australian Marine Industries Federation is the body representing the recreational and light commercial sector and associated marine industries. It is responsible for the implementation of national initiatives, domestic and export marketing strategies and cooperative programs.
AMIF hosts the annual AMIF Australian Marine Awards including an 'Exporter of the Year' category. 

Australian Shipbuilders Association (ASA) - www.shipbuilders.com.au

The Australian Shipbuilders Association is the primary networking forum for the shipbuilding industry of Australia. ASA members produce a range of commercial, luxury and naval vessels and associated marine equipment. Areas in which members are strong international competitors include:

  • Fast passenger ferries
  • Fast car and passenger ferries
  • High speed ocean freight vessels
  • High speed patrol/rescue boats
  • Offshore supply vessels
  • Fishing trawlers and boats
  • Marine equipment and furnishings

The Australian Ship Repairers Group (ASRG) - www.asrg.asn.au

The Australian Ship Repairers Group represents the interests of the Australian ship repair industry to promote the interests of the industry to potential international and domestic customers, the shipping industry and government legislators.

Marina Industries Association of Australia (MIAA) - www.marinas.net.au

The Marina Industries Association of Australia is the peak industry body in Australia for the owners, managers and operators of marinas. Slipways, boatyards, berthing, mooring and other marine storage facilities, sailing and cruising boating clubs are also included in membership.

Super Yacht Base Australia (SYBA) - www.superyachtbase.com

Superyacht Base Australia is the peak national body representing the superyacht industry. It is a not-for-profit company dedicated to developing the Australian superyacht industry and to promote Australia as a preferred destination for the world’s fleet of luxury yachts.
